audiobook. it was fine. i read it because patti smith said that she likes detective stories and i wanted to add to the experience of reading her memoir. also, i thought it would be good since it's winter and this is kind of dark and talks about snow.

Unfinished though not through any fault of its own. After watching the American version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, I thought I was in the mood for Scandinavian crime fiction, but I was probably just in the mood for more Daniel Craig movies.
In the 100 or so pages I read, I did notice that there were constant references to American culture and politics and not much was made of the Norwegian setting beyond the weather and geography. I wonder if the whole series is like that and if so, why ...more

A great installlment in the Harry Hole series. This one is particularly convoluted and fast-paced, featuring the disappearances of several women, the snowmen built at the scene of the crime. This one had the proverbial heart-pounding wrap up, so be prepared to be unable to put this down as it closes.
