This was a great installment in the series, introducing an interesting new female character, Beate Lonn, a video forensics expert. The plot revolves around the murder of someone Harry knows, and an unrelated bank robbery. Harry spends most of his time working on a secondary investigation of the robbery that's running parallel to the official investigation, and then secretly investigating the murder. Update: second read. Liked it better this time. Helps having read the earlier books in the series.
First read: A pretty good read, smarter than your typical crime novel. The twists and turns get a little unrealistic after a while -- it's a little bit of a stretch sometimes. All the characters except two or three are very morally static, very much "good guy" or "bad guy" without much doubt. ...more
