This was an engrossing and thought-provoking read, and in today's political climate it hit uncomfortably close to home. The novel drops us into the life of Hannah Payne after she has been sentenced for the crime of having an abortion - in the dystopian future this novel sets out, this is criminal offense. I couldn't put this book down! I heard about it on a book riot podcast and immediately knew I had to get my hands on it. The premise is a mix between the Handmaid's Tale and the Scarlet Letter with a dash of the Hunger Games. I think Jordan pulls it off, but perhaps without the finesse of Atwood and Hawthorne.
