What Members Thought

While I appreciated the author's atmospheric writing style the story itself didn't do much for me. Character development was particularly shallow and I found that I was never really able to care about the characters or believe in the purported depths of their relationships.
The literary allusions were also a bit heavy-handed, particularly those referencing The Secret Garden. When Frances Hodgson Burnett made a brief cameo appearance my suspension of disbelief finally fell by the way-side.
