Honestly... 2.5. I was glad they ended up together, but it was obvious that was going to happen, and the ending was a bit too neat. There definitely should have been more consequences of Ash's agreement.
Another thing that bothered me was the distance between West Riding and the royal city. She says it's five miles, then it takes more than 20 minutes when the (still a little magic) horses are going as fast as they can to get home, and then they still barely make it back before the other carriage ...more

A lovely re-telling of Cinderella. Lo's debut YA novel takes the Cinderella tale and twists it ever so slightly. Romantic and beautiful, this book provides a fresh outlook on finding your true love. I appreciate that Lo never makes a big deal about sexuality in her book's world. People love who they love. Definitely recommended.
