I love this era of history -- the early days of setting aside land for the national parks, national forests, and wilderness areas. This book is about the early days of the U.S. Forest Service, with a focus on Gifford Pinchot and Teddy Roosevelt (both of whom I became so interested in after this book that I'm going to read more about them).
