I will not rate this since I didn't finish it. I am definitely not one to DNF a book...but I'm realizing I don't have time to read (or audiobook) books that I'm not really enjoying. I stopped this at 60%.
I tried so hard to like this and really really wanted to because of the science fiction aspect (my favorite genre) but I just couldn't.
There were parts of it (read: the season) that I could just not get past and I really couldn't connect with the characters. The plot was also not something that ...more

Entertaining sci-fi. Amy and her parents are cryogenically frozen and sent in a large spaceship to a new earth. When Amy is accidentally awakened 50 years too early, she discovers that the ship and its inhabitants are not all as they seem.
Nature vs. nurture, protection vs. the truth and many more ethical debates come into play, which makes it an intriguing mystery. Recommended for those who like sci fi.

Just finished the ARC last night. Don't know why I waited so long to read it. I woke up this morning wanting to discuss this book with someone. It starts strong and remains strong throughout. I felt the claustrophobia, the fear, the indecision, grief, and desperation as I was reading the story. I think it will make a great new series.

I had a bit of difficultly getting into this book. I found her nightmares/unconscious thoughts disturbing and the switching back and forth between the characters jarring. Once the two characters get together it made more sense and drew me in. I think this stands on its own and am not sure I will read the next.

This made me want to watch BSG again sometime soon. A strangely gripping tale that exceeded my expectations, especially since I don't usually like spaceship stories, I do wish it were a standalone novel as the standalone YA novel seems to be a dying art.

Amy teams up with Elder (the next in line to command the starship, Godspeed) in order to unlock many of the ship mysteries. What's the Season? Who is killing the frozens? Why are there no emotions? Where do old people go? Exactly how long will it take to reach their destination? Why are photography and video recording banned? The greatest secret of all will not be answered until the last page. Who unfroze Amy and why? This book is told in opposing points of view from the two protagonists, Amy an
