The kind of book that finds its way inside your bones, that’s so beautiful it bruises. There are books I read, more and more lately, deconstructing as I go, picking apart their strengths and weaknesses. This, I’m just in awe of. This is the kind of book you read and then immediately reread and then still have to hug for five minutes before you can put it on your shelf. LOVE.

Sequel to "If I Stay," which actually felt like Part 2 of that book so I'm giving them the same rating. I guess the three-year time gap and shift from Mia to Adam as narrator justified making this a separate book, but it also feels like a necessary part of the first book because what happens after a trauma is definitely worth writing about.

Great follow-up to "If I Stay." This book takes place three years after the accident that claimed Mia's family. She is now in New York, playing concerts at Carnegie Hall. Adam is a rock star with a movie star girlfriend and hounded by paparazzi.
When a chance encounter brings Adam to Mia's concert, they embark on a whirlwind 24 hour meetup before each of them sets out on their separate world tours.

I really don't get all the hype surrounding this sequel. I really enjoyed the original, 'If I Stay,' so I expected to enjoy this too and was really let down. If you're into emo teenage boys or literally feel like you cannot live without knowing what the author thinks happened to these two characters, go ahead and pick it up. Otherwise try something else, life it too short to waste on this..
