Very good. I really was into the characters' heads. Wish it came with a soundtrack.

The title should have been 'Brokeland.' Sprawling, flawed but too much fun to care, making me nostalgic for CA, best similes of any living author.

I wanted to love it - but it took me a long time to get into, and parts of the book felt like more trouble than they were worth. I love some of his earlier work, but I haven't really liked the last two novels that much.
