What Members Thought
I like Dave Eggers and this book has made several "best of 2012" lists so I was curious to read it, but I didn't like it (so that's why I'm giving it the one-star rating: "I didn't like it"). I think I was looking for good fiction (a story and characters I care about) but this felt more like a meta political piece about globalization, the demise of the American manufacturing sector, and Why Outsourcing Sucks For American Workers... Not as good as I'd hoped it would be, not insightful in the ways I expected it to be, but not unentertaining nor uninsightful. Seemed a little simplistic about what I'm guessing are some very complex nuances of culture in Saudi Arabia.
