I really enjoyed this book. The stories and the interesting structure kept me turning the pages, and the style is such that it reads very fast. I think the concept ended up grander than the execution, but I still highly recommend it. (Not crazy about some of the casting choices for the new movie version, though.)

This is a fascinating, thinky, complex, unusual book and I've had tons of great discussions about it with friends already, which is one of the marks of a good book, imho. For those who get bored quickly in one genre. This was fun. The heart of the book, to me, was at the heart. The apex of the book hit the strong stuff and let things diffuse from there. The narrator in Tim Cavendish's story was a hoot, but all were enjoyable in different ways.
