I read this for one of my bookclubs, and we're going to see the film before we discuss the book. So, it will be interesting to have read & watched the same story in such close proximity.
Anyway, the basics of the story itself are all in the subtitle. The book was a very zippy read. I'm not sure how much I actually liked Julie -- she's high strung -- but the book was such a fast read that I didn't really have time to think about that. Another blog turned book (aka blook) this book is based on the blog which the author maintained while conducting a bit of an experiment. This experiment was to cook every recipe in Julia Childs' Mastering the Art of French Cooking in one calendar year. Some of the recipes were a success, some were a huge failure. At times the book drug, at others it flew. And it did inspire me to try to cook more things since that's what recipes are for!

I liked this. I thought there would be more of a Julia plot, but Julie's provided some fun and inspiration to blog more or find a fun/crazy diversion.

I didn't read the whole book. I got tired of it after the first 100 pages. Think I got the gist of it though. I was entertained with what little I read.
