Who knew the English court was such a sordid soap opera? I guess everyone, but it's odd reading about a 40-something king sleeping with every woman within reaching distance. I didn't know much about Henry VIII's exploits before this book other than that he had multiple wives, and in reading this book I was sure the author was exaggerating some of the details but I checked and discovered he really WAS that much of a skank. not sure I have time for a 600+ page novel right now in my life....let me give it a try...Well, I did it. I really liked this book and it was just what I needed interesting and easy reading; even if a little long it keep me reading to see what was going to happen next. Loved the historical part of a period I don't know too much about. On the other hand it was not too heavy which is perfect for the few hours I get to steal away and read.
