The story "I Am Legend" takes up the first half of the book. I liked the idea, and I wonder why the movie deviated almost completely from this plot. I don't think a literal translation would have made a very good movie, but most of the changes seem completely arbitrary. The ending, for example: (view spoiler)

Great novella and short stories. They all have that fantastic sci fi twist that makes you see the world from a different perspective at the end. While I wish the main novella were longer, as-is the story is perfectly paced. If a longer story would lose momentum it wouldn't be worth it. I'd rather enjoy the entire story than have more of it with lulls.
