What Members Thought

I bought this book good as new at a garage sale a long time ago. I was intrigued by the cover. I picked it up several times but I finally started reading it one day and could not stop. It is beautifully written and mesmerizes you. The novel is divided in two parts and once you have read the first part you are 100% invested in the story.

I had seen the movie before I read the book but I still think I liked the book better even though the movie was really, really amazing. Schlink's narrator in this book, Michael Berg, speaks with a lot of candor and his narration moves the book along well.
