My favorite books (and stories in general) are ones that offer up a profound subject or theme and explore it through rich storytelling and experimentations with form. Probably a 3.8. I don't know totally how I feel about it, but would definitely suggest it to people.
It takes a narrative and breaks it into smaller parts - like if you were to scatter pieces of a loaf of bread to give to the ducks (readers). I think the point is that life is complex and sort of random, so the myriad endings/isolated chunks of bread reflect that.
The more I reflect on it, the more I like it - but it's a book that has to sit w/ you for a while, I think. ...more

I didn't really get it, but I enjoyed the stories and the artwork.

After only one chapter, I was invested enough in the main character to be really upset when something happened to him. The beginning of the next chapter confused me, then as it went on I realized what was happening. ...or at least I thought I did, until the end. I'm still not quite sure what to think about it all, but I do know that I really liked it.

Not my favorite graphic novel, but an interesting one. The twin authors say that they wrote the book while trying to create a world that would look and feel real. The book did look and feel real... but can't dreams even sometimes look and feel real?
