Then We Came to the End has one of the best endings I've ever read. So many books fall apart in the last chapter, but this one, that had me questioning if I was really enjoying it or not, nailed it.

I'm so impressed with how this book is not only written in the first person plural, but that it manages to reinvent itself several times as it progresses and actually achieve emotional resonance, rather than just being a narrative pony trick.
The book is about office life, written in the we-voice of that particular group dynamic and is both funny and sad. How it starts:

Entertaining, very fast read about an office going through layoffs. It's written in first person plural ("we") so you really get a sense of feeling like one of the employees. Some of the minutiae of the office drama can be tiresome to read, but other episodes are hilarious so maybe that's part of the brilliance of writing the book this way.
