Meg - A Bookish Affair
This is sort of a strange book. The premise is pretty out there. Teen beauty queens from the Teen Dream pageant are stranded on a tropical island after their plane crashes. I stopped reading with only a little bit left because I just wasn't invested in the story. It had an intriguing plot, a good message for teenage girls, and it was funny, but in the way that Austin Powers is funny -- so over the top that experiencing it quickly tires you. ...more

I could not get into it. I think the multiple characters & subplots were overkill, and I kept thinking, "I want a book just about this girl." ...more

A fast, fun read.

My major thought as I read along was, "This must have been cathartic to write."
