Love Gaiman's silky-smooth writing style, love the characters, love the sly homage to the Jungle Book...

But, the sort of hybrid of plot-driven and episodic structures made it easy to find a stopping point and pick up something else, and then I had to get into it again. I recognize though, that this might be part of Gaiman's homage to Kipling, because the Jungle Book is structured very similarly IIRC.

I really enjoyed the book, especially the Silas character, but felt a little let down by the ending.

A fun, fast read. Gaiman's take on the world of ghosts, ghouls, vampires, werewolves, etc., with a young orphaned boy growing up on the border between the living and the dead. It's hard for me to not compare this to Harry Potter given the plot parallels, but this book is not nearly as fully developed that series. While I really enjoyed this story, I would love to see Gaiman expand this world a little more. ...more

An enjoyable fast read. But again, I just wish Gaiman was more than just a great imagination and had some writing skills as well.

I listened to the audiobook version of this. Gaiman was the reader and it was wonderful!

Fun, spooky, and a great twist on Kipling's "The Jungle Book," Gaiman's latest book is perfectly timed to be released right before Halloween. The story follows Bod (short for Nobody), a boy orphaned when his family was murdered by a mysterious man. The boy is taken in by ghosts in a graveyard and raised by a community of ghosts, werewolves and vampires.

Although I felt the story suffered some plot holes towards the end, I enjoyed the spooky take on "The Jungle Book." A fun read for those who like

Fun kids' book about a boy who grows up in a graveyard, after being adopted by ghosts. Hijinx ensue. The scary parts were totally scary, because I'm a wuss. ...more

The first time I read this book, I couldn't put it down. Just over two hours.

The next day, I read it again. Yes, it really is that good.
