The Princess Bride is one of my all=time favorite movies. So have wanted to read it for a long time. And well, bits I loved. Esp. getting backstories on Inigio and Fezzik. But I think the story and characters are so cemented in my mind that I felt a little let down.

A classic. A great story wrapped in a satire wrapped in a practical joke on readers. The wide-eyed innocent and the jaded can both enjoy this and come away thinking they read two completely different books.
