No way, I go, I read 50 pages, I gave you a chance. You blew it! I can see you want to be the new Armistead Maupin, well things go bad when you're trying too hard...

I really enjoyed this. I'd like to read it again. It's was more understated than I expected, even the 'Powerpoint' section of the novel. I rolled my eyes when that began, but it's clear and specific, so the device made sense. I'm not sure why yet, but it reminded me of a Wes Anderson movie. Not any specific one - just the wisful tone; the sad, distracted adults. ...more
