I was already on board with this novel when I knew it was an exploration of music nostalgia and What-Could-Have-Been with certain albums by giants, from Jim Morrison, Brian Wilson, or Jimi Hendrix.

I read this book shortly after it came out and have reread it at least five times. If you love 60's rock and fantasy you can't go wrong here. Ray Shackleford is an every day (90's) type of guy who repairs stereo equipment for a living and dreams of the what ifs of the late 60's legendary rock performers lives.
