I'll start with my new favorite line-- "good for you, not for me." I really started to get into the swing of the book but then was quickly drowning in the amount of characters as well as their backstories and the world itself, which is why I'm not the biggest fan of fantasy because the amount of time spent on world building is distracting to me, I'd rather have character and plot than setting most often.

I was kind of hoping this would be a standalone so I wouldn't have to commit myself to another tome, but by the time the ending rolled around, I was anxious to read more! Where does it go from here?

I really enjoyed this one--it's a nice piece of escapism. I wish it were a stand alone book though because as much as I liked it, the series already feels like an obligation.
