I really enjoyed the first half of this book, but I found the pacing of the book overall to be odd. It seemed to me that the first half of the book should have been the main focus, as the rest seemed to be an afterthought and one long summary. Why spend half the book on a two or so year period, and the second half on decades? In any case, I really enjoyed the writing and the characters.
