What Members Thought

"Maybe Eve was never meant to be our warning. Maybe she was meant to be our model.
Own your wanting.
Eat the apple.
Let it burn."
Fuck yeah, Glennon Doyle.
I didn't really know what to expect from this book. It's what everyone is reading now, and I had heard good things, but that's always a mixed bag. I'm happy to say that I was not disappointed - this is a really enjoyable read. I think it's really geared towards women, although I'm sure some open-minded men would probably get a lot out of it. This book resonates now because I've lived through major changes and events as an adult. These life experiences changed my perspective and that's what I came to this book with. I want to read this book to really pause and take note of certain quotes. I imagine, whenever I come back to this book, different par ...more

I have mixed feelings on Untamed. I LOVED the themes of building your truest, most beautiful life and not sacrificing yourself to please others. Glennon Doyle included funny anecdotes and an intimate telling of her inspiring story.
However the long dialogue felt too perfect, too constructed. The uppity tone of some passages didn't sit well with me either. Doyle is probably preaching to the choir with many readers. Her messages are important, but nothing groundbreaking. ...more
