[close] I love historical fiction, this novel spans three generations, starting in 1913 and ending in 1993. The setting in the New York Public Library is so interesting, and the plot that links all three generations with the library has twists and turns. The novel has strong female protagonists in the fight for women's rights, with a mystery thrown in for good measure. It is enlightening and heartbreaking at the same time.
