This is actually a very good book! Though I am not sure I am ready to allow it to be so...
It is a very peculiar for Jane Austen book. It lacks the energy of her other novels. Fanny is constantly mistreated, even when her worth is finally recognised. Personally I don't get why so many people don't like Fanny. She has so many virtues and the only comment I have to make about her passivity is that in real life that would have led to her being even more undervalued. People have to fight to get what ...more
