Although I've seen Ruby Red mentioned several times on other blogs, I'd honestly never really thought about reading it. Until, that is, I found out it is about TIME TRAVEL. These are flashbulb words for me - the combination of modern and historical settings means that I get a little of all the things I love in one book - what more could I want?

Time travel-Yay! I don't know why this book was so enjoyable to me. I do like time travel, I do like mystery, I do like romance. I really liked Gwenyth, she's kind of a kooky character, but I like how she rolls with the punches. She is a little dimmer than I'd like though, and she seemed much younger than 17 to me. This book did take a long time to set up the story arc for the trilogy, I was half-way through before things really started happening, but since it is only the first of 3, and my libr ...more

I'm also not a huge fan of time-travel/sci-fi, mas this book was quite a fun read!
It only felt too rushed, almost like only an introduction to the next in series...

A delightful little tale about human nature - firstly, set against a theme of time travel.

# 1 of a trilogy? Well, well ... I'll just have to see about # 2, won't I.

(how do I fall into this business of following serial YA books? I wish there'd been books like that in my mid-teens)
