Heartbreaking, terrifying, sweet, and poetic. And I want Neil Gaiman to read me all the things.

I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Gaiman, and it was wonderful. A perfect example of how a narrator can add a whole different dimension to a story to turn it in to something greater than just the book. I particularly loved the sense that all the words had just the right emphasis and cadence, because as the author, he knows how they should be. Even though it was a pretty fantastical writing, Gaiman made me feel like I was sitting at his feet, listening to him tell a story from his childhoo

Neil Gaiman is a master of his craft. His prose is elegant and it's impossible not to get lost in this fantastical world and these adventures. The Ocean at the End of the Lane is a beautiful book, and definitely one of those books that you can read multiple times over and enjoy.

Lovely folk/fairy tale. Recommend to readers of "The Book of Lost Things." A beautiful, short read.

A lovely book, but it was slightly more disturbing to me than some of Gaiman's other books. I think it was because the protagonist was only seven, and the things that were happening were so terrible and completely beyond his control. Even though it's skinny and about a child, it is definitely not a children's book.

I love Neil Gaiman's writing style, and I loved the first half of this book. The last half was a little anti-climatic for me.
