After reading the first chapter of The Hunger Games, I was convinced that I was going to hate this novel. Since I was reading the book as a class assignment, I continued reading and I am thrilled that I did. This novel introduces readers to Katniss Everdeen, a teenage girl living in the futuristic country of Panem.
