See What I Have Done is the fictitious retelling of the Borden murders in 1892 in which Lizzie Borden was accused of having murdered her father and step mother in their home.

The book focuses on the murders themselves, though the culprit is never clearly identified as the murders remain unsolved to this day, the daughters in Lizzie (who was a home when the murders took place) and Emma (who was staying with a friend at the time) and housekeeper Bridget. "Lizzie Borden took an axe,
and gave her mother forty whacks;
when she saw what she had done,
she gave her father forty-one."

This one left a little to be desired.
I'm not sure if I was confused or just wholly underwhelmed by it, but it just really did nothing for me, and overall was just a hard slog throughout.

This really got me in and was just a random read and review offered by my local bookstore. I love these type of books and doubt I can part with this one. Turn back to a murder and all the unraveling to get to the real killer and what really happened.
