A beautifully written book that deals with family violence and dysfunction with nuance, honesty and heart. The two central characters, Skye and Ben are children caught up in their mother's bad relationship and are drawn so perfectly that I keep catching myself wondering what they're up to now. The story unfolds gradually, with the dread and sadness ratcheting up, but the strength and love between the siblings stops this from becoming an utterly bleak experience.
