This seems to be a pretty well-crafted debut but I could not engage with the characters so it left me a bit cold. In her grief over a stillborn baby, Gaelle escapes Sydney for Fremantle, without telling friends or family. Sometimes when I go to the library I pick a random book off the shelf. I shut my eyes and grab a book and hope for a winner. Not so lucky this time!
The story is about a woman who has given birth to a stillborn baby and the consequences of that on her and her marriage.
