This was one of Sherlock's more complicated cases and in fact for a time it appeared that Holmes had joined the satanist cult he was investigating. You can appreciate what this did to Watson.
All soon ends well, at least we think it is until the last line in the book, that introduces a MAJOR TWIST.
Great story pace and assorted bad guys make this a great read. Recommended book as well as the entire "The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" ...more

Wenn ich könnte, würde ich dem Buch 3,5 Stern geben.
Geht aber nicht, also habe ich abgerundet.
Im Großen und ganzen kann man schon sagen, dass die Geschichte spannend geschrieben war. Der Plot war durchdacht und hatte viele unerwartete Wendungen und auch das Spielen mit der Zeitlinie hat die Sache noch interessanter gemacht.
Leider gibt es auch zwei große Mankos für mich.
Erstens ist die ganze Beziehung zwischen Holmes und Watson hier regelrecht unterkühlt bis abwesend. Ja, ich weiß. Manche werde ...more
