This book is all over the place. I am curious to see the movie. John and David start taking a drug nicknamed Soy Sauce that can cause a number of magical and supernatural abilities in its user. Apparently the drugs sends its users through time and parallel dimensions but sometimes when they return they are no longer human. Makes me want to see the movie 2002.

Very, very funny. Not terribly coherent. But funny! I didn't feel like there was a real sustained plotline - and what was there kept getting lost in all the Lovecraft - ian descriptions. If Lovecraft had been a pan of feces humor, which I don't recall as being the case.
I had a hard time getting through this book. It needed editing. But even saying that, there were some truly hilarious moments, and I would certainly read more from the author! ...more

This book is so strange that I cannot describe it well enough to make you want to read it. That's a little sad, because this book is amazingly hilarious. I just love these books that can string one piece of nonsense onto another and yet somehow come up with a coherent whole at the end. If you like that also, you should give this book a try.
