At first I was a little confused with the world building, but I was equally intrigued. Smokeless fire offered something different, the world of the Jinn. Ari is just turned 18, and her life has been turned upside down, discovering that she was the daughter of the White King, a powerful Jinn. The story follows Ari, her guardian Jai, and best friend Charlie, as they try to thwart the White Kings plans for his powerful daughter. Ugh... i'm torn between 3 and 4 stars. I really liked it and originally was going to give it four, but then I thought about Lunarmorte,Samantha's first series, and it just doesn't compare to how awesome that book was, so I had to drop it to 3. Maybe once the rest of the series comes out I will up it to four.

I really liked this book, however it was kind of depressing how alone Ari is.... she doens't have one person that she can confide in or lean on through the entire book. Everyone was using her
