"The truth is rarely pure and never simple."
Oh Macsen....I just want to put your dark, broody self in my pocket and keep you close always. Calia Read knocked this one out of the park - I was a fan of Thayer and Severine's story, but I absolutely fell in love with Macsen and Emilia. Even in Every Which Way I was drawn to Macsen, I have an slightly unhealthy attraction to dark, misunderstood, and moody men - I love finding redeemable qualities in those who think they are irredeemable. You think you know Macsen Sloan......but you don't. He is so much more complex than you could have imagined in Every Which Way. Get ready for an incredibly intense, gripping, sexy and intellectually stimulating read. I cannot get enough of this book and it is now one of my very favorites!!!
Emilia Wentworth would do anything for her sister. I fell for Emilia after just a few sentences. She got into my heart quickly and never left. I fell for Mac (he lets me call him that) in E.W.W. He wasn't the ...more

First, I must say that I read somewhere that a reader thought Breaking the Wrong was a stand-alone book and didn’t think you needed to read book one beforehand. I would strongly disagree with that statement. Not only would you be clueless about half of what is going on, you would also entirely miss out on the evolution of the main character which is the point of this book. Do yourself a favor and don’t read this review if you haven’t read book one. Oh, and go out and download book one, Every Whi ...more

I completely fell in love with Emilia and Macsen! My heart literally clenched - I was so deeply rooted in their story. In Every Which Way Macsen and even Emilia were presented to the readers in such a flawed way... I was uncertain how this book would turn out. This was a highly anticipated novel for me because I new the revenge angle would make for a delicious read. It did not disappoint... and gave me even more than I had hoped for. The sweet love between Emilia and Macsen was so unexpected and

Lemme preface this by saying, after reading Every Which Way earlier in the day, i was NOT a Macsen fan. At all. I started this book blindly because i NEEDED more Thayer and Severine. Imagine my dismay when I start reading and realize that this book is about Macsen and Emilia. I was kinda thinking, do I really want to read this?
I gotta say, *happy sigh*. SO glad I did.
I wanted to know more about Emilia immediately. I thought she was slimy in the first book and she didn't disappoint with her slim ...more

I'm torn on how I should rate this book. I loved Macsen but I didn't like Emilia as much however I also enjoyed that I got some glimpses of Severine and Thayer. I actually had to stop reading somewhere around 40% because she was starting to bother me. I didn't feel the fiery romance coming from her, all I felt was that she was like a bouncing ball (whiny and dramatic), I get it but I just didn't feel strongly about her character. Or maybe I just want Macsen all for myself, I wish there was more

This book is so much better than the first book in the Sloan Brothers series. For starters you can actually tell who is talking and what is being said. I did find the first part of the book was a little slow and it took me a while to get into the book. However once the truth came out with the twist I wasn't expecting I was riveted and found myself reading with earnest as I unravelled the story.

"Dark love is intoxicating. You’ll do anything for that person. Be anything for them. It’s desperate and holds on tight and that’s what makes it so strong– it never lets go.”
Macsen Sloan stole and broke my heart in Every Which Way only to prove himself worthy of my love in Breaking the Wrong. Calia Read pulls out all the stops in an electrifying second book in the Sloan Brother's Series, that will leave you wanting more! ...more

I love the Sloan brothers! I wanted a little more of Thayer and Serverine, but I understand this is Macen's story and I loved him. I had a hard time with most of part 1 because I wasn't warming up to Emilia because I didn't know her full story. Once I got it I loved the book and it was great! Can't wait for the next story!

I didn't love the first one, but I really enjoyed this one!
