A very cinematic book - I could see and hear the characters on a movie screen as I read the book, and I don't think it was entirely because I already knew there was a movie made. It's an unusual premise, as we start off SPOILER ALERT within the first few pages knowing that the protagonist is the killer. But it's due to the author's skill that she maintains the suspense and tension throughout, as Dix plays the cat and mouse game with his best friend, the detective. We know he's going to get caugh
