I read this because I was looking for something set in Burkina Faso. Unfortunately I didn't really learn much about the place, its history or culture. Hopefully I can find another book set in this country to learn more.

I found this review on BookBrowse. I think it does a wonderful job of describing the highlights of this book.

I really liked this book. It was almost too short for the full story. But when you stop to think about it, she wasn't writing a LeCarre or a Ludlum, where all the details are painstakingly given; she was writing a biography to her sons, to explain the reasons why they were likely to never see her again. It was a great premise and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This was a political thriller from a mother's and federal agent's point of view.
