You may call me a sap. This was a great read, and I am really happy to have decided to read it. I read it in One Day, could not put it down. Nicholls tells the story of two people who fell in love the first time they really meet, in their last night as University students. Using this one day, July 15th, he takes us through a 20 year span of their lives. It is funny, it is clever, it is sad, but its a beautiful love story. I will miss the characters.

Started out as something I loved and gradually declined into predictable garbage...:/ possibly a bit harsh but I'll review properly soon, once I've digested the story. ...more

Emma and Dexter meet on the last day of college, attracted to each other though they are, they never quite get it together and from that day their lives take different paths, whilst they try to keep in touch. The book follows their lives over a twenty year period through the ups and downs of their relationship on the anniversary of their meeting. They are meant to be together, but will they ever make it happen, maybe, One Day.

A really nice read. The main characters feel very real in that I like

This book equally annoyed, delighted and depressed me. I liked the fact that you weren't given all the details of their lives and could come to your own conclusions about things! :) ...more

It is not very often that a romance story such as this is written so beautifully and with such perfection! David Nicholls is an amazing author and inspirational!
