This took me longer to read than it should have, but more from lack of time than from lack of enjoyment. It's heavy on philosophy and there are plenty of places I put pen to paper to underline a thought or idea. I didn't agree with every thought put forward, but I don't think that was the author's intent. I read this in high school, and found it to be something unique, but darned if I remember a thing about it now.
I originally wanted to read this in high school but never found the time. I am glad that I read it as an adult, my younger self would not have appreciated the message near as much. With age comes wisdom and I viewed this book as a story of a path taken rather than a road map to enlightenment.
Such a simple story, yet profoundly moving. It sounds cliche, but this book is about a spiritual journey to find meaning in one's life. Very rarely do I read books twice, but this one is going back on my list to read again.

An absolutely amazing book. Like Khalil Gibran distils the essence of metaphysics into the simplest of prose. Not afraid to challenge the mystic experience Siddhartas journey is truly timeless. A book for the soul.
