I hadn’t loved him as long, perhaps, but now I loved him equally well, or better. I loved his laugh, his handwriting, his steady gaze, his honorableness, his freckles, his appreciation of my jokes, his hands, his determination that I should know the worst of him. And, most of all, shameful though it might be, I loved his love for me.

Confession I have never seen the film (will be watching this weekend though!) so this review is just on the book and not a comparison to the film.

I saw the movie ages ago and I still enjoy rewatching it. I listened to the audio book version and enjoyed that as well. The book follows the traditional "Cinderella" story a lot more closely than the film, but I like both as their own entity. The debates she's facing at the end are very different, but of course it's all for the same, heart-warming reasons.

It's a cute tale, a nice little fairy tale escape, fully of humor. ...more
