This is a classic for a reason. It's beautiful, somber, pulling at the heartstrings. Not only is it a tender story of a boy who loves a toy, but it's a metaphor of growing up, of loving and the beauty of the pain that goes along with it, and remembering that often the ones who are most loved are in fact the ones who look, at least on the outside, the worst, the most tattered.
