I agree with other reviewers I've read. It's tough to give this one 5 stars, because up against Mistborn it doesn't compare. However, standing alone, it has so many things that I enjoyed - entirely fresh new world (how often do you get that in fantasy?), great characters, strong female protagonists, hilarious dialogue and a plot that will keep you guessing. So, I'm giving it the 5 stars that this book deserves with the comment that I guess Mistborn deserved 6. Or 7.

Started last week not going to finish I just can't get into this book.

Good writing and while I plan to read more by this author, it was difficult for me to really care about the characters. They were all ok, but I wasn't emotionally invested. The sword though was pretty awesome and it was interesting world building. His writing is quite good so I think I'll try Elantris or Mystborn series.
