I actually finished The Stand. I feel like I have completed some great feat. I really The Stand and Stephen King's ode to Revelations. This is a story about good and evil. I really enjoyed the book just as much as the mini series.

The Stand is a solid book with an amazing first half, a sluggish middle, a nail-biting third, and a boring ending. It has everything you expect from King - great characters, some amazing suspense and moments of absolute horror - and of course a horrible, rushed ending. Now I've read both the uncut version and the original published edition, and recommend readers to find the 900 page master piece over the bloated Uncut edition that came out in the 90's. If you only ever read one Stephen King book, this should be it. One of my favorite books and a must read for anyone who likes the post-apocalyptic genre.
