This book was 50/50 for me, almost to the page. I loved the first half when we were exploring the zombie world, learning about R, and the beginnings of his relationship with Julie (at the airport). I give this book a 3.5 and round up. This book is about R a Zomibie who falls in love with Julie a human. I love zombie books but this book isn't really about zombies. It is about death and finding something worth living for. In that, as I saw someone write, you could take out zombies out of the book and insert another undead creature such as vampires or ghost and the heart of the story would still hold true. This was a "meh" book for me. I didn't hate it or love it; it was just okay. Now in general I find zombie books to be "just okay" so if you like zombie books you might love this. It does have a unique premise for a zombie book which I felt was it's saving grace.

Great new zombie book! Completely different from anything I've read or seen in the zombie genre. Love the writing; there were quite a few passages that I sticky-noted because they read like poetry. I think both zombie fans and others would enjoy it.
