If you have ever read, or seen a movie based on a book by Nicholas Sparks, you know that he writes those hopeless romantic books that you can't help but cry over. I most definitely cried during this book, more than once throughout it. The book is about this shy girl named Katie who moves to this small town in Florida. As the book goes on, you find out she is running from something, or someone, and you learn more and more about her. Despite her constant fear, she tries to fit into this new town, If you have ever read, or seen a movie based on a book by Nicholas Sparks, you know that he writes those hopeless romantic books that you can't help but cry over. I most definitely cried during this book, more than once throughout it. The book is about this shy girl named Katie who moves to this small town in Florida. As the book goes on, you find out she is running from something, or someone, and you learn more and more about her. Despite her constant fear, she tries to fit into this new town, with a new name, look and personality. She makes friends with the neighbor and starts to show some interest in the local store owner, Alex. He lost his wife, and the mother of his two kids, and like Katie, is hurting inside. It is hard for both of them to wear their hearts on their sleeves, especially Katie, seeming she is still hiding from the mystery of the book.

In this book, I truly enjoyed how every part of it left me hanging just a little bit. It was almost impossible to put down. After reading something, you feel like you're going to find something out about Katie's history or her fear, but it just keeps building up. It was very emotional as well, because not only were you trying to find out what exactly happened to scare Katie away from her home, but Sparks also gets you attached to the love story between Katie and Alex.

One thing you may not like about this is the beginning. Parts of the book are flashbacks and parts are real life, so it can get confusing. The beginning is slow, but it's definitely worth the wait. In the beginning, Sparks is just trying to show that Katie is a emotionally harmed by whatever scared her away, and that she really isn't willing to make new relationships no matter what kind.

This book is seriously amazing. I think it may be my favorite book I've ever read. If you like movies like the last song, and the notebook (which are books written by Nicholas Sparks) then you will most definitely love this book. It's definitely a girly book, and I wouldn't think many boys would find it appealing. If you like trying to piece things together while watching a loving relationship develop through its ups and downs, then you will definitely love this as much as I did. ...more
