Written by the author of the Twilight Saga, The Host is another work of Stephenie Meyer. Switching for the normal vampires and werewolves, The Host talks about souls that are like parasites that invade our planet Earth causing the human race to extinction. Meyer focuses on the adventure of one particular parasite named Wanderer who takes over the body of Melanie. Unlike most the most, Melanie’s will of over powering Wanderer is strong therefore allowing her to survive and sometimes take over her

I just finished this book, and it was very good. I was really hooked on it from the beginning, although, I didn't have alot of time at first to read it and only got to read maybe 10 pages or so for the first 4 or 5 days, and this made it seem to drag a little, but once I got some time, I finished it 2 days later. I loved the complexity of the fictional characters/terminology and just the overall "out-of-this-world, but still-so-completely-part-of-this-world" plot. It made everything that much mo

I absolutely loved this book! It has the right combo of sci-fi and romance, two of my favorite kind of books. I stayed up until 2 a.m. to finish it. The beginning is just a little slow. But because I wasn't sure what was really going on at first, I had to keep reading so I could figure it out. I couldn't just walk away without knowing. I've always liked sci-fi, but nothing has kept my attention like this in a long time (except for Twilight).

There are desperate survivors left in hiding. But when one of these aliens, 'Wanderer' as she is known, because she has been in more hosts and on more worlds than any other of her race, begins ...more

So I would never have read this book, except the author, Stephanie Meyer really caught my attention with the Twilight series and I had a 5 hour car ride to endure. It is really out there, I mean come on, alien invasion?! But it is true to her style. What I like about her is the way she can explain her characters thoughts and feelings in such a way that you are able to really, almost physically feel what they are feeling, she continues to do this in this book. But alien invasions are . . . just w
