It's hard not to get carried away by the grandeur of Ellis' vision of space exploration as human destiny. Like the best science fiction, Orbiter gives us a glimpse of fantastic possibilities grounded in theoretical science, which, at its most theoretical, looks like magic. Ellis' characters are so well-developed, even in the too-brief time spent with them, I craved another chapter (or more). ...more
