Shelves: dnf, classics, holidays

At 54% I tried, I really tried. This is my first book I am DNFing. The beginning was very difficult to understand (some passages I can't grasp at all) but then it did get better quickly but it is feeling like it's dragging on, even though it's a short book. I don't care for Dickens writing (which is not to say it's bad just not for me). I know the over all message of the story, and that is wonderful. My 37th read as a part of the Shannon Reads "Those Books" adventure.

I feel a little Bah, Humbug on this one. It's a challenge to come into an iconic story with fresh eyes, and I couldn't really go there. I know it's supposed to end up feeling feel good but I was just waiting for it to be done. Oh, well - one more classic down at the very least! ...more

Christmas Carol is my favorite movie to watch during the Christmas season. This is my first time reading the book and I was pretty underwhelmed. The ONLY thing that saved this from being a 2 star was that Tim Curry narrated the audiobook! He did a fantastic job!
